Environmental Control

Environmental influences, such as temperature and moisture variation in the pavement structure, can be simulated through a set of special add-on facilities. The pavement temperature during an HVS test can be controlled between -5°C and +30°C with a temperature control chamber. Higher pavement surface temperatures can be achieved using industrial radiant heaters. heaters.

The moisture condition of the pavement can be changed by adding surface water or by introducing water into the pavement layers, thus simulating saturated conditions, pumping or potholing
